A New Way To Edit
Today, I discovered something awesome on my Kindle Touch--Text to speech.
I had uploaded a current copy of my ms, turned on text-to-speech and read along with the feminine computer voice. What makes this an interesting way to edit, is HEARING your story. I'm sure you've heard before about reading your story out loud, but having someone else read it is much better.
The other great aspect of text-to-speech--you can hear your made up words. My husband and our friends have this ongoing argument about how the name Jarlaxle is pronounced ( a character from R.A. Salvatore's novels). Well, you better believe I'm going to play my text-to-speech and settle the debate.
If you have an e-reader that has text-to-speech, I highly recommend listening to your novel. Keep a note pad by your side, take notes, sit back and enjoy hearing those marvelous words being played.
