YA HIGHWAY RTW: Sing To Me

It’s Wednesday! And time for another road trip from YA Highway This week’s prompt is a music one, and yes, I am doing a happy dance.

If your WIP(s) or favorite book(s) were a song, which song would they be?

This took me exactly an hour and half to decided. I have a playlist for my book, but to choose one song, tough! I thought of my MC and came to a decision–step in Weak and Powerless by A Perfect Circle.

  1. So many people use playlists for their works in progress. I listen to music everyday before I write, but I don't have a playlist for my WIP. I like quiet when I'm actually writing. I'll have to think about what song would be "the song" for it.

  2. I don't have a playlist for my WIP, but I do have some cds of nature sounds. I pretty much listen to that as background noise so nothing else distracts me. πŸ™‚ After a few minutes, I don't hear it anymore because I'm absorbed in writing.

  3. I do have a playlist for my WIPs, although I don't necessarily stick only to that when writing. But when I think on the overall theme of the book, and what songs/lyrics would be appropriate if it were ever made into a movie, I can come up with a list of 10-12 "perfect" songs. Everything from Muse to Joshua Radin.

  4. I don't have a playlist for this WIP, but I did name all of the chapters of my last book for randome lyrics…not that it actually made it through the edits.

  5. I never thought of using music while writing until my Book Tour and I had to come up with a Playlist. It was so much fun finding music that fit the book I'll do it for each from now on.

  6. I'm playlist happy! I have playlists for the plot and for characters. I understand the time it takes to decide… and I wound up cheating and posting two songs πŸ˜›

Great choice. Based on this, I think your character's struggles will make for a fantastic read!

  7. This is the first time I've heard that song. Very nice! Love the writing prompt for this week–book playlists are awesome πŸ™‚
